Why use tallow instead of plant-based oils?
Beef tallow is biologically similar to the oils found in human skin, making it incredibly bioavailable. Unlike industrial seed oils, it’s packed with Vitamins A, D, E, and K, providing deep nourishment that your skin actually recognizes.
Does the soap smell like beef?
Not at all.
Our tallow is carefully rendered and purified to remove any natural odor, leaving behind a clean, neutral base. From there, each bar is finished with our signature scent profiles — fresh, woodsy, and subtle.
What you’ll smell is a premium soap, not beef.
How long does a bar of Stud Suds typically last?
Because our bars are cured for a full six weeks and contain high-quality fats, they are denser and harder than grocery store soap. With a draining soap dish, one bar typically lasts 4–6 weeks of daily use.
Why is my soap a slightly different color than my last order?
That’s the beauty of small-batch manufacturing. Since we use natural fats and botanicals, slight variations in color and texture are normal and a sign that you're getting a real, unadulterated product.
Are your ingredients sustainably sourced?
Yes. We source our suet from local suppliers who prioritize traditional practices. We believe in using the whole animal and honoring heritage methods of skincare.
